This unusual slab of honeycomb calcite from Utah. I left the ridges that were produced by the drilling process used to split the stone intact because I liked the contrast between them and the smooth surface. There is a white chasm throughout the center of the stone which looks like the stone was hit by lightning. The reverse side reveals the mineral deposits and gives the sculpture dimension and interest.
