Product Description

In psychology, a projective test is a personality test designed to let a person respond to ambiguous stimuli, presumably revealing hidden emotions and internal conflicts projected by the person into the test. When I showed this piece to a friend of mine, before telling her what I saw, she told me she saw two figures huddling together, gossiping perhaps laughing at a joke, flirting or just getting to know one another. I started cracking up! Just before her, another friend (who was going through a rough divorce) saw two figures back to back ignoring one another. I don’t know much about psychology, but I do know art. These pieces, different in size, color and shape, give the viewer the opportunity to project their own” story” onto the pieces. Who says that they are even people? A third friend saw the lavender piece as her beloved cat snuggling up to her as she got home from a rough day at work. Art is not meant to be serious; have fun with these pieces and create your own story!  Carved in 2010 in Alabaster. Dimensions 6”h X 13”w X 8”d (no base.)
