Robin Antar

“What is America?”

American sculptor Robin Antar has been called “Brooklyn’s answer to Andy Warhol.” Exploring the American experience through the lens of popular culture, Antar combines personal observations and life experiences with loaded symbols of American icons as she asks, “What is America?” “How do we cope with conflict and how do we contribute to and shape our political and cultural landscape?”

Antar’s work is a visual record of modern American culture. Meticulously carved in stone, a hamburger with fries, an American-made work boot and a giant Ballpark Frank become lasting, and often nostalgic, monuments to contemporary life.
