Sand-colored Israeli Limestone. Created in 1999.
During a family archaeological excavation, I stumbled upon a unique piece of unattached limestone, which I respectfully took as a keepsake (with permission, of course). The boot, a recurring theme in my artwork, symbolizes an ordinary individual who makes his mark in this world. In this instance, the image that struck me was of a boot washed ashore, embodying the juxtaposition between an active and passive approach to life.
