The Alien Meet my new friend, an alien. This form appeared in this piece of Shania Marble as I was carving it. I work intuitively on my abstract pieces and often let the stone lead me to the final form. This one surprised me, reminding me of an alien. "The Alien" has rough edges created by the stone's natural aging process, which I left intact as the creature's brains. As you can see, the reminder of the figure has sharp lines, including horizontal lines in the center, which represent the rib cage. Created in 2012. Dimensions: 17”h X 23”w X 6”d.
