THIS sculpture started out as an image that simply “popped into Robin’s head” when she was decompressing at a health resort.  “I’m not afraid of the stone. I carve aggressively without worrying about cutting away too much of the stone”. This 300 pound sculpture was once an 800 pound block of marble. What looks like two separate figures embracing, is actually one single piece. “You have to visualize the form within the stone before you even pick up a single tool. Not only do I see the actual figure, but I can visualize the negative space”.
